WDHN Storm Team: Wet weather ramping up for the Wiregrass

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Due to rain this morning and extensive cloud cover during the afternoon, many Wiregrass residents didn’t even make it out of the 70s today. Those that saw peaks of sunshine warmed into the mid 80s. Tonight, everyone will drop into the low 70s and upper 60s just as we have over the past week or so.

Wednesday will see scattered showers and storms throughout the entire day with mostly cloudy skies keeping us in the low 80s.

Much of the rain on Thursday will be in the afternoon and evening, so some areas may warm into the mid-80s if they see more sunshine early in the day. Otherwise, expect temperatures to remain in the low 80s once again.

Rain chances increase this weekend as Tropical Storm Cristobal moves toward the Gulf States. The models are currently predicting landfall to occur in Louisiana or Texas, but any eastward movement will mean much heavier rainfall for the Tri-State. At this point we can expect 2+ inches of rain through the weekend, but we may get more depending on the track of this developing storm.
