DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — After a nice, cool, past few days, we’re going to start heating up and seeing more rain. What’s the cause of this week’s weather? It’s all from the remnants of Beta.
Fall officially started today, and the mostly cloudy skies combined with temps in the mid-70s sure made it feel like Fall. We’ll peak closer to 80 degrees tomorrow as the clouds break just enough to allow more sunshine into the Wiregrass. Rain chances remain low at 20%.
Thursday and Friday will have medium chances for rain at 60% and 50% respectively. Temperatures will also be on the rise starting Friday where we’ll be in the mid-80s. This will yet again be influenced directly by Beta as it ushers warm, moist air into the SE US.
The weekend will have rain chances that are ar little lower at 40% both days. Temperatures will continue to be in the mid-to-upper 80s. By this point, rainfall amounts for most people will not even exceed .5″ in the Tri-State despite plenty of chances for rain.
The start of next week will be on par for this time of year with mid-to-upper 80s on Monday and low rain chances. However, Tuesday will be a day of change. A cold front will pass through the Southeast and cool us down just like we saw this past weekend. If the front moves through early in the day, we’ll only see middle 70s; otherwise, it will be one last day in the low-to-middle 80s.
