The dry weather pattern that we have been experiencing over the last several weeks is coming to an end. Moisture is going to stream into our area from the south and west. With abundant moisture in the atmosphere, coverage will be widespread as showers and thunderstorms will be scattered. Rainfall will be heavy at times but our flash flood threat should remain low for Thursday and Friday as the dry grounds absorb all of that moisture. Isolated showers will remain as we go into the overnight period.
Expect a similar setup for Friday and into the weekend as scattered showers and thunderstorms will be off and on. Temperatures will remain in the lower to middle 80s for a good part of the next 7 days. Models show shower activity tapering off by next Tuesday. Rainfall totals will be heavier in some areas but overall we are expecting anywhere from 3-5″ through next week. If you have any outdoor weekend plans, you will definitely want to have a plan B. Have your rain gear handy and stay safe!
