Our next storm system will be moving into the region and there is a chance that some storms may become strong to severe, especially in the western Wiregrass Thursday evening. There is a marginal risk for severe storms, but the primary risk area at this time is well to the west of us in the lower Mississippi River Valley. Timing for rain to begin to move into the area will be in the late afternoon. The chances of heavy rain and gusty wind will be overnight Thursday and into Friday morning. Rain will last on and off through at least the first half of the day Friday.
This weekend will feature spotty showers and storms with warmer afternoon temperatures. Highs will be in the lower to possibly even middle 80s. Warm temperatures will stick around into next week along with the rain chances. Storms will be likely Monday and into Tuesday as another system moves in from the west. Storms will clear again for Tuesday afternoon and by Wednesday, we’ll have a mostly sunny sky.
