DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — We remained rain free today, and temperatures soared into the upper 70s! We’ll keep it exceptionally warm tonight with temperatures staying in the middle 60s. A few showers will be possible.
Rain chances will increase significantly Tuesday. With a 70% chances for rain, abnormally high temperatures, high dew points, and more energy in the atmosphere, we could see a few strong storms. The biggest threat is damaging wind, but some small hail or an isolated tornado is possible although it still seems unlikely at this point.
Wednesday will bring more rain and a few storms to the area. While we aren’t under an official threat for severe weather yet, there is the possibility for a few more strong storms as more energy is expected to move into our area in the afternoon hours. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s and low 70s once again. Winds will be gusty as the cold front moves through the Tri-State.
Thursday’s changes will be bigger and for the better! Our temperatures will drop 15-20 degrees from Wed. to Thurs., and skies will be very sunny! Morning lows will be in the upper 30s and highs in the 50s.
Friday will be clear with lows in the low 30s and highs in the upper 50s and low 60s.
The nice conditions continue on Saturday with temperatures moving from about 40 degrees to the middle 60s. Mostly sunny skies will lead to another dry day.
Sunday is our next rain chance at 40%. Highs will be in the upper 60s.
Behind that front is a little more cool air for Monday. Sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s will make for a pleasant day.
