DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Shower and storm chances will be elevated for the better part of the next week ahead.
A frontal boundary and a broad area of low pressure is moving into the region. There is a chance that when the associated moisture moves over the northern Gulf of Mexico, it may become better organized. At the moment, most model projections take it to the west of Alabama. That is good news for us, but bad news for Louisiana where they will be dealing with a lot of heavy rain. Major flooding is likely in southern and central Louisiana.
Since our storm chances will be higher than they have been, temperatures will actually be trending at or below average going into the weekend and next week.
