WDHN Storm Team: The scattered storms and hot weather will continue this week

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — WOW! Who thought it was a good idea to turn up the dial on the thermostat these past few days? As if this weekend wasn’t hot enough with Sunday in a 3-way tie (at the time) for the hottest day of the year at 97 degrees, we topped out at 100 degrees today according to the Dothan Regional Airport! Fortunately, a few showers found their way into the Wiregrass to help cool things off, but it won’t last long as we heat right back up tomorrow.

Tuesday will once again easily see mid-90s throughout the Tri-State. Afternoon storms will cool down some folks, but those that don’t get the rain will have “feels-like temperatures” close to 105.

Wednesday through Friday will continue the trend of mid-90s with a 30% chance for showers and storms. We’ll also be Tracking the Tropics as a system moves into the central Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday.

As the weekend rolls around, we can expect higher rain chances and temperatures in the low-to-middle 90s both days.
