Going into the weekend, the overall storm chances will be lower than they were during the week. On Saturday, we’ll have on and off showers or storms and then on Sunday, just a few isolated to scattered storms will be expected. High temperatures will be in the 80s both days. Because of the warmer afternoon temperatures, on Saturday, there is a LOW chance that we could have one or two severe storms. The main threat would be strong wind and some hail. Throughout the day, rain chances will be right around 30%. The better chances for thunderstorms will be in the afternoon hours. So if you have any outdoor plans, keep an eye to the sky for when storms do begin to develop. Sunday’s rain and storm chances will be a little lower, 20-30%.
On Monday, another system will approach the region and will bring the threat of heavy rain and the risk of strong and severe storms to the Wiregrass. At this point in time, the main threat from severe storms will be strong wind.
