DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A rare summertime cold front that is moving across the country and will be bringing showers and storms to the Wiregrass on Tuesday. In addition to the showers and storms, cooler and drier air will be moving in. Below average temperatures are expected through the rest of the week.
Starting on Wednesday, lower storm chances will be expected. By the weekend, however, storm chances will be increasing again. That will help the trend of below average afternoon highs to continue.
In the tropics, things are getting active again. Tropical depression number three has formed off the cost of Florida near the Bahamas. It is expected to become a little stronger as it becomes more organized. Right now, it should not be come a named storm. The primary threat will be heavy rain and breezy conditions along the Atlantic coasts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. There is no threat to the Wiregrass at this time.
