As of May 28, 2019–36.4% of the state of Alabama is abnormally dry for this time of year. 7.4% of the state is in a Moderate Drought and that includes Houston, Dale, Henry, Eastern Geneva, Southern Pike & Barbour counties.

The high pressure heat dome that controlled our weather pattern over the past week brought no rainfall and several record maximum temperatures. These record-breaking temperatures increased evaporation and dried up soils. With little to no rainfall expected over the next several days, it is important to take the proper steps to be prepared.
