The nice weather we have been enjoying will continue for another day. Thursday will be mostly sunny with warm temperatures and dry conditions. On Friday and Saturday, some low rain chances will enter the forecast as a weak frontal boundary moves into the southeast. Rain and storm chances will be greater in western and central Alabama.
Sunday is the day for the Wiregrass to be weather aware. There is a good chance that a stronger system will be producing widespread storms. Many of the storms will have potential to be severe. At this time, the primary threat will be strong wind in excess of 60 mph. There are some indications that there may be a low tornado threat that will develop. Timing from west to east will be for storms to enter in the western counties around lunch and then begin to exit in the east near sunset. We will be tracking this system in detail as it get closer.
