DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today was great, but it doesn’t stop there. This week’s forecast is a true gift to those that love Fall.
Today was about 10-15 degrees warmer than yesterday, and we expect to warm up even more tomorrow. Temperatures on Thursday will move into the lower 80s for all of the Tri-State area. Abundant sunshine will make for a perfect day to get out and spend some time outside doing yard work, grilling, or sitting quietly on the porch.
A cold front will move out of the North overnight Thursday into Friday bringing another round of cool, dry air that will stay in place through the entire weekend.
Next week will start off with yet another cold from, this time from the West. This one will primarily keep us dry, but temperatures will make a rebound into the low 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. Some tropical moisture will also move in and increase cloud cover.
The Tropics are becoming more active over the next 5-7 days as two systems are expected to move out of the Caribbean and into the Gulf. Current models suggest the first system will stay in the SW Gulf of Mexico. The second system has shown signs that it could pass over Western Cuba and into the Eastern Gulf. Because of this, we’ll be keeping a very close eye on the Tropics specifically during the second week of October.
