WDHN Storm Team: Isolated showers becoming heavy rain tonight

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Only a few light showers so far today, but the will change overnight!

Tonight will be very warm with lows only dropping into the upper 50s. Rainfall with be heavy at times, but most of it will fall before sunrise. We could see up to an inch of rain by mid-morning tomorrow and another half inch once all is said and done Friday evening. Friday will hover in the low 60s as rain and dense cloud cover prevent us from warming up much at all.

Saturday will be dry with mostly sunny skies and fairly average temperatures. We’ll bring those temps up a bit more on Sunday as mostly sunny skies remain.

Monday will be cloudy and significantly warmer with a 40% chance for rain. Temperatures will be in the middle 70s as strong southwesterly winds usher in a lot of warmth from the Gulf.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be mostly sunny with low rain chances both days. We’ll keep those 70s in the forecast, but the front moving through Wednesday night will likely take them out fairly easily.

Thursday will be a good 10 or more degrees cooler than Wednesday, but it should be much drier as well.
