WDHN Storm Team: Hot weekend ahead with a few pop-up showers

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The warm weather is here to stay in the Wiregrass with temperatures sitting in the upper 80s the rest of this week. We saw a couple small pop-up showers earlier this evening, but that will be it for today. Expect Thursday and Friday to basically be the same as what we had today: very warm with one or two pop-up showers or thunderstorms.

Saturday and Sunday will have added chances for those pop-up showers, but the majority of us will be dry with mostly sunny skies. We’ll move into the 90s Sunday and Monday with the chance for either of those days being the hottest we’ve seen this year.

A cold front will move through the Southeast early next week increasing our chance for rain Monday evening. Chances will remain low, but it is our best bet for rain within the next 10 days.

After the front moves through, temperatures will drop back into the mid-80s to give us a little break before another heater late next week.
