DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today’s heat was accompanied by a few afternoon pop-up showers and storms allowing some folks to cool off earlier this evening.
Friday will also see a few pop-up storms, but they will primarily be confined to the Eastern half of our viewing area. Whether or not you see a storm will not decrease your chance of experiencing more above average temperatures as we expect to hit 98 tomorrow.
Saturday and Sunday will be equally hot as temperatures may hit the century mark in a few areas over the weekend. Rain chances will be low at 20% or less both days.
Next week will be a few notches cooler, but we’ll remain above average each day. Scattered storms are possible each evening, and they will be a welcome sight as many parts of the Wiregrass will be approaching a deficit of 5.5″ in terms of precipitation this year.
