In the tropics, there are two areas of concern in the Atlantic basin that the National Hurricane Center is monitoring for potential development. On area south of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea has a 10% chance of becoming a tropical depression or storm as it drifts to the northwest toward the Bahamas.
Off the cost of Africa, there is a tropical wave that has a 20% chance of developing over the next 5 days. Since this system has a lot more distance to travel in an area that is more conducive for development, it will be something to watch.
