DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — For Tuesday night, temperatures will stay in the lower to middle 70s with a mostly clear sky.
Wednesday afternoon is looking to be a little hotter than Monday afternoon was. Highs should make it into the lower to middle 90s for most of the Wiregrass. Abundant low-level moisture will make it feel even hotter. Heat index temperatures will be in the triple digits. Remember, the higher the heat index is, the harder it is for your body to cool off.
The trend of oppressive heat index temperatures will continue into the weekend, even with slightly higher storm chances. The intense heat may help a few of the storms that do develop to become strong to severe with straight line wind as being the main threat. Organized severe storms are not expected at this time.
