DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Another heater out there as temperatures soared into the upper 90s once again. While we can put up with the heat, the lack of rain is no playing matter. Dothan’s recorded precipitation is sitting at a deficit of almost 5″ so far this year.
Wednesday-Friday will basically be a clone of one another with temperatures hovering in the middle and upper 90s. An isolated storm or two throughout the Wiregrass is possible, but most folks will only see sunny skies all three days.
The weekend will be even hotter with only a slight increase in storm chances. The 20% chance for rain won’t be enough to alleviate the drought conditions that we are approaching this week.
Next week will continue hot and mostly sunny with a few more scattered storms moving into the area.
Because of lower relative humidity values during the afternoons, heat indices won’t be as much of a concern this week until we approach the weekend despite the hot conditions.
