DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The slightly below average and dry conditions that we have been enjoying will be sticking around for the weekend. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Since dew point temperatures will be in the 60s, the heat index is not going to be a huge factor. It will feel comfortable to be out doors. Just be sure to have the sunscreen with you!
Next week is when shower and storm chances return to the forecast. By the middle part of the week, an unsettled pattern will again be setting up across the southeast. Temperatures by then will be heating up into the lower to middle 90s. Extra humidity will push the heat index to the upper 90s to near 100° at times.
In the tropics, no development is expected over the next week. However, we will be heading into the period of the season that typically becomes more active in the tropical Atlantic.
