DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The next couple of days will be sunny and cooler than they have been. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the middle to upper 80s Thursday and Friday. A strong breeze will make it feel even cooler at times.
Next week, as fall begins on Monday, temperatures will be feeling more like summer again. Afternoon high temperatures will be trending well above average in the middle to upper 90s.
In the tropics, hurricane Humberto is a category three storm with 120 mph wind. It is pulling away from Bermuda and will no longer have any direct threat to land.
In the central equatorial Atlantic, tropical storm Jerry formed earlier in the day Wednesday. It is likely that Jerry will become the season’s next hurricane. At this time, the projected path calls for the storm to begin to make a turn to the north and the east before it becomes a threat to the Caribean islands and the U.S.
