WDHN Storm Team: As rain chances decrease, the heat ramps up

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A band of rain stayed just to the south of the Wiregrass today leaving most of us with partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 80s. Besides a stray shower or two, tonight will stay dry before showers and storms move in tomorrow morning.

Showers will stick around Thursday afternoon, and highs will stay in the low 80s. The chance for rain still exists Friday, but most of the day will be dry, mostly sunny, and around 90 degrees.

Saturday is our best shot for a rain free day! If you are heading to the lake or beach or have any plans to celebrate this weekend, Saturday is the pick of the weekend in terms of weather. There could be one or two isolated storms, but they won’t stick around long. Sunday will have a few more showers, but it’s the heat that will affect most people as some throughout the Tri-State could have their hottest day so far this year.

Low 90s once again on Monday with increased chances for rain with much of it occurring during the evening hours. Beyond Monday, we’ll see temperatures in the upper 80s and continued chances for showers and storms.
