Dothan restaurants take on holiday weekend amid COVID-19

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Local restaurants are gearing up for the holiday weekend, but with COVID-19 still looming, they’re taking extra precautions to make sure that their customers are safe.

Meme K’s is a Dothan favorite, with customers arriving as early as 10:45 a.m.

It is also one of the many local restaurants making adjustments to their daily tasks to keep their customers, and themselves, safe and healthy.

“You know we’re wiping everything down, tables down, sanatizing everything after every customer,” Meme K’s co-owner Priscilla Noble said. “We’re just taking those extra precautions for people coming in.”

Another local favorite feeling the pressure of COVID-19 is Stix & Cones on Foster street.

As a small local shop, they are doing everything they can to serve the community in a safe and healthy environment.

“Of course, we are using one time use gloves like we always do,” Stix & Cones co-owner Brett Smith said. “We’re very determined and very purposed in how we clean and sanitize each table after every guest. And our equipment as well as our surfaces.”
