Wiregrass Cardinals vs. Dothan Dragons


OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — The 15-and-under Wiregrass Cards took on the Dothan Dragons in the division’s championship game Wednesday.

Coach Sammy Fricter’s Cards’ scored early and often against the dragons. Cards’ first baseman, Alan Jones, scored through the first two innings. Wiregrass led 13-0.

At this point, it was all downhill for the Dragons. Their second baseman was thrown out of the game as he argued a call on a steal. Wiregrass Cards won the game 14-3.

The coach said retail businesses in Ozark and Dothan are pleased with hosting the AAU World Series.

“We have a number of teams eating at restaurants and staying at our hotels what else can you ask for,” Coach Sammy Fricter said.


Also, The 17-and-under Wiregrass Cards defeated Enterprise. The Cards will be featured in the championship game Thursday morning.

The 19-and-under lost to Baton Rouge Warriors 9-2. Therefore, they are eliminated from the tournament.
