Wallace sweeps doubleheader against visiting Bishop State


Wednesday in Dothan, Wallace Community College played a doubleheader at home against Bishop State out of mobile.

The weather has played havoc on the young season with the  Govs, having five games already postponed due to rain.

Through the first four innings, a pitcher’s duel in a scoreless contest. Wallace coach Mackey Sasser says the weather has been the biggest hindrance on the season.

In the latest Juco baseball poll, the Wallace Govs are listed ninth in the entire country.

As far as the doubleheader against Bishop State, the Govs swept the Wildcats with back-to-back shutouts. In the first game, a real pitcher’s dual with Wallace winning 1-0. In the second contest, the home team wins it 4-0.
