Troy releases depth chart just days before taking the field against MTSU


TROY, Ala (WDHN) — Just five days before the season opener against Middle Tennessee Chip Lindsey and Troy football has released their week one depth chart.

Getting the nod at quarterback is still Gunnar Watson who was named the starter on August 22nd.

Then the guys he is throwing to consists of Reggie Todd at the X receiver, Khalil McClain at the Z and then Kaylon Geiger at the Y.

Starting in the backfield will be BJ Smith who is making his return to the field after being sidelined for the majority of 2019 due to a knee injury.

In the trenches Austin Stidham starts at left tackle, Grant Betts at left guard, Dylan Bradshaw at center, Jake Andrews at right guard and then Bubba Hudson at right tackle.

On the defensive line, John Hines and Devon Reaves at defensive end, Will Choloh at defensive tackle and Luis Medina at nose tackle.

The linebacker core will be headed by Carlton Martial in the middle, KJ Robertson on the weakside, Richard Jibunor at bandit and T.J. Harris at the spear.

Then in the secondary, Terence Dunlap and Reddy Steward are in at corner, Dell Petus starts at strong safety and Craig Slocum at free safety.

The one position not set is the kicker spot, Northview graduate Jack Martin is still in the mix for getting the start but it will be him or Evan Legassy come Saturday. However, Martin will be handling the kickoff duties.

At punter, Kyle Cole will be starting.
