Slocomb expects great turnout ahead of region game

SLOCOMB, Ala. (WDHN) — This week marks the first region clashes of the 2019 season on high school gridirons.

Last week, Slocomb defeated Cottonwood at Red Top Stadium. Slocomb head coach Rich Tisdale said it was a good tune-up due to playing in a competitive Class 3A.

Despite Wicksburg’s loss to Daleville last week, Coach Tisdale knows his team will be in a battle at the Burg this Friday night. Every region game is viewed as a “playoff contest.”

“We always have a big crowd whether it’s volleyball or any other sport. A large group will follow us to Wicksburg, and they always have a good crowd,” Tisdale said.

Other Class 3A games

Providence Christian vs. Geneva

Houston Academy vs. Pike County

Opp vs. Straughn
