DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Long time Northside Methodist Academy boy’s basketball coach Richie Anderson has coached his last game with the Knights.

Friday afternoon in Auburn, Northside Methodist lost its regional contest to Lee-Scott Academy 64-43 eliminating the Knights from the postseason. Earlier this month, Anderson announced this is his last season coaching.

He has a full-time job and with coaching, he loses a lot of family time.

“You know the guys are probably tired of hearing this, but it’s not about playing basketball but about life. If you give up when things get tough and you can put those lessons in a nutshell, a two-hour game,” Rich Anderson said.

In seven years at Northside Methodist, Anderson compiled a 69-47 record including a regional championship in 2017.
