(WDHN) — In the Rehobeth field house early Wednesday morning, a special occasion for a young man who plans to major in Pre Med.
Payton Jinks signed with the Huntingdon College Hawks out of Montgomery. Jinks played nose tackle for the Rebels and was involved in some 67 tackles. That includes five QB sacks.
“There’s something about Huntingdon, the whole team is a community in itself and you can talk to the coach about anything, and that’s the main reason why,” Jinks said.
Rehobeth coach Donnie Gillian credits Payton with helping turn around the school’s football fortunes in 2019. In 2018, the Rebels were winless.
The Rebels finished 7-3 this past season.
