Rehobeth officially forfeits Friday’s game against Pike Road

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — After speculation started to build Monday, Rehobeth coach Pate Harrison confirmed to WDHN that the Rehobeth Rebels are going to forfeit Friday’s game against Pike Road.

The reasoning for this is that Rehobeth players had been exposed to COVID-19 and now many players are having to quarantine. Enough of the team that playing this week could not be done.

Monday afternoon, Pike Road schools had posted a statement on Facebook regarding the forfeit but until today that was not official.

Given this was a region game, the Rebels fall to 0-2 in the region and 2-3 on the year.

Rehobeth’s game scheduled for 9/25 or next Friday against Wicksburg is now in question but if needed it could be moved to October 30th.

For Pike Road, Friday was originally going to be homecoming night. Now that event has been moved to their October 2nd game against Charles Henderson.
