GRACEVILLE, Fla (WDHN) — The Graceville Tigers have a new head coach. They have hired Randy McKinnie to come in and take the reigns of their football program.
A first time head coach. McKinnie will be leading the school in which he went to and played for in 1990s.
Prior to the hiring, McKinnie was on staff as an assistant for eight seasons and he was able to have an assistant gig at Marianna as well as Chipley.
In 2019, the Graceville Tigers went 8-4 while reaching the Class 1A regional semifinal before losing to Baker high. The team did win the Sunshine State Athletic Conference’s Big Bend Brawl Championship.
Building on that success while building the community and culture of that he wants will be step one in his new era at head coach.
A few weeks ago, Florida postponed the start of football season by two weeks, so McKinnie will have to wait til August 24th to see how the team will fit into what he wants to do.
