Rain throws wrench in Future Masters

Dothan, Ala (WDHN) — Rain has come throughout the week in Dothan and that has given the field crew as well players some trouble to handle.

Steven smith, superintendent over at the Dothan Country Club has had his hands full in trying to keep the course playable.

“Luckily this week we have had two rain days and it hasn’t been that bad. We had to close the course and work on it a little bit for an hour or an hour and a half. We were supposed to have had rain today but we missed that, I hope it holds out and stays dry the rest of the week so we can dry the course out. It plays better,” Smith went on to say.

with the rain, players have to adjust how they play this round at the country club.

15 year old from Dallas, Texas, Tommy Morrison, trusts in the course and how they treat it.

“The fairways were a little soft, the greens were fast and pretty firm. So it didn’t really affect it too much I know the Dothan Country Club trains well and the course is in great and shape and not much was affected,” Morrison added.

Tommy is set to tee off at eight in the morning tomorrow during the first round of the 15-18 year old division. His older brother Jack, is also playing in the tournament.
