Providence Christian athletes sign athletic scholarships to the next level

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — At Providence Christian Academy, several seniors signed athletic scholarships to the next level.

Senior Emma Houston inked a letter of commitment to playing softball at Wallace Community College. At Providence, she is the first Providence Eagle to be named to the first-team All-State and she was selected to the Dothan Eagle Super 12.

They have a great softball program and I’ll be close to home,” Houston said.

For baseball, Cole Smith will be heading to Andalusia to play for the LBW Saints.

“I really love the coaches there and I know a lot of players there. It was an easy decision,” Smith said.

Pitcher Grayson Stewart had a 9-1 record with a 1.94 ERA. The 3A pitcher and player of the year will head to Troy following his senior season with the Eagles.

“I got friends up there, my parents can come watch me anytime up there. I just love the atmosphere,” Stewart said.

Volleyball player Autumn Mayes is signing to the University of West Georgia.
