It’s spring break week for most Wiregrass school districts. In Opp, the annual Butch Youmans Spring Break Tournament is underway involving a dozen area high school baseball teams.
In the two day event, each team is assured three games in the round robin competition.
The tournament is a way to honor the late Butch Youmans who passed away several years ago. The Opp businessman spent many years as a volunteer coach and mentor to young people.
The proceeds from the tournament gate receipts and concession go to the Opp baseball team.
