DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Day three of the Future Masters brings placement day for the three younger divisions.

Golfers came from all over the United States and the world just to compete in this youth tournament.

Ten year old, Grayson Baucom from Hickory, North Carolina led the entire way and shot a 68 to win.

“I’d like to thank god for this talent and I’d like to put it to good use,” Baucom said. He is currently staying at his grandparents who live in Dothan. A few weeks ago, one of Grayson’s cousins got married!

At first Baucom was filled with nerves but it was the players in his pairing that helped boost his confidence.

“On the first tee at hole one I was really but then the second day, my teammates or my partners, they were really kind to me and I just felt more comfortable with them,” Baucom said about his counterparts.

In the 11 and 12 division, Henry Guan out of Irvine, Texas won the division by two strokes at five under

“It was a dream come true, I mean I didn’t expect winning this,” Guam said.

Guam has big goals like most in the field to win the PGA Masters at Augusta, this may be the first step in that direction.

The 71st future masters had some hiccups from weather but nonetheless trophies were handed out and smiles were made.
