Troy, Ala. (WDHN)—During his “zoom” teleconference on Tuesday, Troy Head Football Coach Chip Lindsey described the
difficulty in preparing for the season without being able to gather on campus.
There are several “huge” questions going into the season.
With the graduation of “starter” quarterback Caleb Barker, Coach Lindsey and staff
won’t have much time to find their number-one signal-caller. It’s a process that usually starts
in Spring football, but it had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Trojans’ have three bona fide candidates, one hails from the western wiregrass,
Brantley High School product Jacob Free.
Whoever is chosen as starting quarterback, they’ll be playing behind a young “O-L”.
The team lost three seniors to graduation from 2019.
The returning starters are left tackle Austin Stidham and center Dylan Bradshaw of Enterprise.
But, Dylan says the Trojans’ will be joined by one of the best junior college offensive linemen in the country, Jordan Chapman. “247-sports” rates Chapman as the ninth-best junior college guard in the country.
