Tuscaloosa, Ala. - (WIAT) -- The Alabama linebackers have taken another loss, this time in the heat of summer workouts. Rising Junior Terrell Lewis suffered a torn ACL during summer workouts according to the Alabama Athletic Department.
“Terrell Lewis suffered a torn right ACL last week while training." Said Nick Saban in a press release "He underwent successful surgery today, and a timeframe for his return is unknown at this time.”
Last season Lewis missed most of the season after suffering an injury during the season opener against Florida State. However he was able to return to the field for the Iron Bowl and College Football Playoff games.
The loss of Lewis is the second hit to the linebacker corps for Alabama in the last week, Sophomore VanDarius Cowan was dismissed earlier in the week for a violation of team rules.
