Kinston revamps football program

(WDHN) — After several years as Luverne High School’s defensive coordinator, Rudy Free is back at the helm.

Prior to that, he was the head coach for several years at Ariton High School. Free will guide a young Kinston team in one of the toughest football regions in the state. This upcoming season, Kinston will face Elba, Brantley, and an improving Florala team.

Coach Free is Kinston’s fifth head coach in the last four years.

“The attitude of the kids is great. They are putting in the time to learn how to play this summer. The kids did better today than yesterday,” Free said.

Kinston and other high school teams across Alabama will begin practicing in full pads the first week in August.
