(WDHN) — Retired educator Karl Bledsoe will work on a contractual basis as Kinston’s new boy’s basketball coach.
Bledsoe led Elba to the state tournament several times in a row during his coaching experience. He won the Alabama Class 2A title in 2014 and has been retired from coaching for three years. However, Bledsoe is ready to get back on the saddle.
“Of course, we want the kids to win, but there are other successes. I am big on them hitting the books because that’s what will take them far in life,” Bledsoe said.
Wiregrass basketball fans’ are already looking forward to the new year when Bledsoe’s Kinston Bulldogs head to the tiger den to take on Elba High.
Bledsoe took the Tigers to the state championship in Birmingham on several occasions over two decades.
