Future Masters Commences with Bagpipes

At daybreak Sunday morning, the Future Masters Golf Tournament got off to a unique start.

To commemorate the 70th annual edition of the event, a man played the bagpipes while 92-year-old Dr. Press Thorton and longtime event starter Johnny Culpepper hit ceremonial tee shots. Dr. Thorton’s father came up with the idea to host a junior golf event back in 1949. Culpepper has maintained starting times and tee sheets for the last 53 years.
