DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Wednesday in a press release, the Dothan Wolves announced that they have made the move for a new head softball coach.
Donny Bright is the guy getting the call and he is a familiar face within the Wolves’ softball program. He has been serving as an assistant on the team for the past 11 season.
Bright is a life-long resident of the Wiregrass area and a 1994 graduate of Dale County High School where he lettered in football and baseball. He has his BS degree in Secondary Education in Mathematics from Troy University.
He has been employed by Dothan City Schools for 16 years and has coached football, cross country, baseball, and softball.
He has been the assistant softball coach for 11 years where he has helped the team advance to the Regional Tournament 7 out of the 10 years. Of those seven appearances, the softball team advanced to the state tournament three of those years. While coaching softball he was in charge of running the outfield and calling pitches.
Bright currently has two daughters on the team and in his time away from the diamond he is a youth pastor.
