DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan softball athletes signed scholarship letters of commitment to play at the collegiate level.
As a sophomore two years ago, then Northview High star Jaala Torrence verbally committed to play college softball at the University of Alabama. Today, Jaala made it official as she signed the dotted line.
“I went to an Alabama softball game when I first started playing softball. I knew that was the atmosphere I wanted to be in and I knew that was where I wanted to be at that point,” Jaala Torrence said. “To be able to achieve this dream today is a dream come true.”
Jaala has family ties with the University of Alabama. Her teammates also signed with her Thursday — Catcher Emily Sellers signing with the Wallace Govs and Shortstop KJ Braswell signing with the Chattanooga State Tigers.
