50 members of the Dothan Dolphin Swim Team will compete in the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association State Meet this weekend in Opelika.
The meet this weekend in Opelika is one of their biggest meets of the summer. The swimmers range from 6-18-years-old. The swimmers practice around three hours a day and four days a week. Swimmers come from Dothan along with surrounding Wiregrass cities and counties. For assistant coach Isabella Owens, the squad has the right chemistry to go all the way.
“They spend a lot of time in the water around three hours a day. They work hard and support each other no matter what,” Owens said.
The young competitors are looking forward to the state meet this weekend.
