DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Today, Dothan City Schools announced their plans for 2020 home sporting events.
Fans are going to be limited to 2,250 people at Rip Hewes Stadium this fall to meet the requirements set by the Alabama Department of Public Health, the Alabama State Department of Education and the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
Dothan City schools has come up with a plan to mitigate the risk of COVID-19.
“Spectators are allowed to attend athletic events, but attendance at events will be significantly reduced as spectators shall not congregate within six feet of a person from another household except to extent necessary,” the school system said.
Dothan City School also said that spectators are to wear a mask or other facial cover at all times within six feet of a person from another household.
The exception to the mask rule are for children who have not yet entered second grade and for people with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a facial covering.
These guidelines are in affect for Fall 2020 athletic events.
