The Future Ballers girl’s basketball camp took place at Coppinville Junior High School.
It was led by new Coppinville coach Christopher Porter as he hopes to get more female student-athletes interested in basketball. Porter says the athletes are there but softball, cheer, and other sports which are available to young girls often catch their attention.
“We have a lot of younger girls who have played and they are head and shoulders above the rest, but their are girls that never touched a basketball before.”
Coach Porter used both games and drills to instruct the fourth through sixth-graders.
