TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — Spring break has arrived on Troy’s campus this week and with it, a natural break has presented itself in the Trojans’ spring practice routine.
Troy head football coach Chip Lindsey gave an assessment of his squad mid-way through spring practice. Offensively, the Trojans were among the top-25 teams in the country last year in scoring, passing offense, and total offense. Troy returns eight starters from that unit.
At this time, coach Lindsey has not given any indication as to who is leading in the quarterback battle. Last year’s top signal-caller Caleb Barker is expected to be selected in next months’ NFL Draft.
“Gunner and Parker both, Jacob Free those are the three older guys that are getting a lot of work with the 1s and 2s. When we get back from spring break we’re gonna start narrowing things down,” Lindsey said. “I wouldn’t say anybody really separated themselves but there’s been some good and bad. Their job is to take advantage of every opportunity they get.”
T-day is three weeks away from Saturday.
