Something happened yesterday that Ben Stanfield didn’t know he would live to see.
The Auburn Tigers’ basketball “Miracle Season” continues, and the Tigers have earned a final-four berth for the first time in that school’s history. At one point early on, Kentucky was up by ten points over Auburn, but the Tigers fought back.
The Tigers won the battle in a 77-to-71 victory. With the win, Auburn captured the NCAA Midwest Regional title. In the game, Jared Harper scored 26 points and Bryce Brown added 24 points. It was Tiger coach Bruce Pearl’s 100th win in his five seasons on the plains.
The victory has set-up a final-four contest against the university of Virginia next Saturday. The winner of that game will play in the National Championship one week from tonight.
