ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Abbeville High School baseball, softball, and track teams used to travel to hold practice, and its been that way for quite a while.
Well soon that won’t be the case, the school has been approved to add an on-campus softball and baseball field along with a state of the art track and field. The facilities are supposed to be ready by next spring.
Principal Darryl Brooks says he’s excited about the new additions.
“Very grateful to have it. It will be beneficial for our students and not just our students but beneficial for our community they can come out and walk on the walking trail, so I’m just really excited. It keeps the children from having to drive over into town,” Brooks said.
Groundbreaking for the facilities has not started yet, but Mr. Brooks says he’s grateful for the city for letting the athletic teams use their facilities.
