Abbeville punches their ticket to the 2A title game with a win over Leroy

LEROY, Ala (WDHN) — The Abbeville Yellow Jackets are going to the 2A state championship game after they defeated the Leroy Bears 60 to 45 Friday night.

On a rainy night, Abbeville found no interference from the wet field they were playing on, scoring on their first two possessions.

The Yellow Jackets got a huge night from an unusual source. Junior wideout and defensive back scored three touchdowns on the night and also had one interception.

Then senior, Rico Dozier, did what he always does and bulldozed his way on both offense and defense. Dozier scored two touchdowns from thirty yards out and he recorded double digit tackles once again.

In the end, Abbeville controlled the game throughout the contest and would go on to punch their ticket to the state title game next week. There they will play Mars Hill and that game will be at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa at 2:30 p.m.
