ABBEVILLE, Ala (WDHN) — Friday night, the Abbeville Yellow Jackets take the field for what will be their final home game of the season.

It will also be the last game they will play before the new stadium is finished being built….So what is coach LaBrian Stewart telling his guys before the represent hive nation for one more time this year.

“They understand what it means to play here, they understand what it means to put on that maroon. We do not have to stress that. We have talked about procedures if we don’t win as far as equipment take up and I think that scares the mess out of them,” Stewart said.

Abbeville is fresh of a win over B.B. Comer in the 2nd round and now in the quarterfinals they will face a 10-1 Isabella team that already beat Abbeville’s region foe, Ariton two weeks ago.

But, Stewart is not getting caught up in what Isabella may be doing, rather he wants his players to focus on themselves and play for each other

“This team is a bunch of family member. That is all that matters, what is right there in the locker room and before pregame. And who believes and I think these kids believe in each other,” Stewart said about his team.

He didn’t just mean family in terms of how close the kids are but also the numerous relations amongst the team, starting with the Glanton brothers.

The winner of Friday’s game against Isabella will play either Leroy or Lanette next week in the 2A semifinals.
