DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A date has been set for the 31st Annual Home Oil Charity Golf Classic.
For 30 years, the tournament has raised more than a million dollars for the Wiregrass area united way. Home Oil Company owner, Tim Shirley, says his business and its employees are dedicated to making a difference in the community.
Shirley says the tournament is his way to honor his grandfather James Alan Shirley, who passed away from a heart attack a number of years ago.
“We were looking to get with an organization that had the most outreach in helping, and we got with the wiregrass united way and that fit us to a tee,” Shirley said.
This year’s Home Oil Charity Golf Classic will be held Friday, May 10th at Highland Oaks. For those interested in entering a four-player team, contact the Wiregrass United Way at 793-1544.
